WENT OFF 'EVENS' AND AGAIN ANOTHER F 2ND
ALMOST ALL STAKE RETURNED SO NOT TO BAD
This Ed Walker trained gelding has only run twice this season and should be cherry ripe to pounce at a nice price.Currenly priced at 10/30 this will allow for an 'each way' stake.Returning almost all of a wager if doesnt win but places.
His first run of the season and penultimate start of this years campaign was at todays venue and trip.Running on strongly to finish a 'head' behind 'aw'specialist and already race fit 'Teen Ager' .
The 3rd place horse that day was 'Midnight Feast'whom went onto win his next 2 races so the form looks pretty solid in context of this race.
His last run was on the turf at Warwick.He struggled for a clear passage that day and was partnered by an extremely inexperienced claiming apprentice Bradley Bosley.He finished strongly again once an opening materialised but the leaders had already got first run finally going down by just over 2 lengths.
Going back even further within the form lines,his 3rd to last run he ran 'Whispering Warrior'to within 2 1/2 lengths over a mile.To put that piece of form into context that rival has since won 4 out of 5 last outings
With the experience of George Baker in the saddle today inconjuction with a handy draw i envisage a run to rival any in the field for the victory.
Theres 1 or 2 dangers in the field namely 'Athletic 13/2' who split a couple of recent winners 'Intomist'and 'Bold Ring'at this track a week ago.
He also boasts a 'CD' victory on his record.Allowed to race of the same mark of 9st 3ibs and the exellent Robert tarts 5ib allowance a massive help rates as my 'danger'horse.
My selection has to concede weight to my danger today but with betting 'ew' im confident of having a real chance to win with a safety net of returning almost all of my stake should he finish in the frame.
