Tuesday 20th July, Goodwood, 3.05pm
The Bet365 Lennox Stakes will be the third race from the Glorious Goodwood Festival opening day on Tuesday and this Group 2 encounter is always an interesting watch.
It is run over a distance of seven furlongs and is open to horses aged three and over. At the moment, there are twelve possible runners for this one.
The 11/4 favourite is Aljamaaheer, who can be backed at 11/4 and comes into this one in good shape after a win at Ascot last time out.
The four-year-old was also second in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot recently, so he has performed in big races and with Paul Hanagan doing the steering, some might find it tough to look past the favourite here.
Producer runs for Richard Hannon and will have Richard Hughes on board, so he is sure to be a popular bet and can be backed at 11.2.
The colt was a winner at Newmarket last month and has seven victories from 14 races, so is clearly a talented horse. If at his best here, there is no doubt Producer can be involved come the closing stages.
You can get odds of 6/1 on John Gosden’s Fencing, who needs to run better than his last encounter at Newbury as he was back in sixth place when last racing in May.
However, the American gelding does have plenty of talent and the fact he is lightly-raced could suit him on Tuesday afternoon.
Garswood can be backed at 8/1 and does have the talent needed to be involved in this encounter, as does Caspar Netscher, who is being offered at 9/1.
Professor and Krypton Factor then both look to be good EW value as they are at 12/1 and 14/1 respectively. The rest of the field is then out at 20/1 and over.
This looks set to be a cracking race, but Producer gets the nod from us for the Lennox Stakes.
Tuesday 30th July, Goodwood, 4.15pm
Race number two from Glorious Goodwood on Tuesday afternoon will be the bet365 Molecomb Stakes, which is held over a distance of five furlongs and is open to horses aged two.
This is usually an interesting watch and at the moment, there are eight possible runners for this clash.
Supplicant is being topped as the 11/4 favourite and after an impressive second in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, he does come here in good shape.
This colt has Ryan Moore on board for the first time as well, which is only likely to increase his chances of coming out on top. He has never been out of the places in his three runs so far and in truth, beating Supplicant is going to be tough in this one.
Anticipated can be backed at 7/2 and runs for Richard Hannon, with Richard Hughes the man doing the steering.
The two-year-old ran in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and was in third position, so needs to improve this time out. If he can return to the kind of form that saw him win in April and then in May, then there is no doubt Anticipated stands a great chance here.
Reroute is being tipped at 4/1 and needs to improve on her fifth place in the Queen Mary Stakes last time out. It was a tough encounter, but so is this and in order to win, Reroute needs to put in a big performance.
Ambiance is at 6/1 and with two wins from four races on British soil, Mick Channon’s charge isn’t certainly not one to be written off.
You then have a number of contenders in the shape of Brown Sugar, Sleeper King and Majestic Alexander, who are available between 12/1 and 16/1 respectively.
Justice Day (25/1) and Meritocracy (33/1) compete the field for the Molecomb Stakes.
We are going for a bit of an outsider in this one and think Brown Sugar is good value to take the race
