This maiden is really interesting and it could be set up for a 3 pronged attack for a return or at the very least the whole return of your stake.
Theres 3 principals in this race are:-
DOROTHY B 2/1 WON
Trained by John Gosden and has had only 1 start in her short career so far.
First time up she finished 4 lengths 4th to 2 Godolphin filly's namely INSPIRITER and GENTLE BREEZE at Lingfield.
The latter doing the form no favours going down again in a maiden race next time finally finishing a disapointing 6th.
These 2 are by no means leading lights of the boys in blue and wont be winning anything of note in the near future.
Gosdens filly is open to improvement with that experience under her belt.
Ive got a suspicion the bookies have her favourite due to them being terrified of the trainer.
HOKU 3/1 2ND
A disapointing 2nd fav at Lingfield last time.Finishing 8 lengths behind the Michael Stoute trained ALONG AGAIN.However that form was boosted that rival finished 2.75 lengths 3rd in the group 3 Judmonte stakes.
Before that race this selection had run in a listed race finishing approx 3 lengths 8th to Hannon trained FIG ROLL.With other smart types just ahead namely VENTURA MIST who finished 8th in the group 2 Queen Mary stakes. The 3rd placed horse was LOVE IN THE DESERT who's also ran at group 3 level.
Her 1st attempt at listed level was 3 runs back and is the most interesting as it was on todays 'softer surface'
She finished 2.5 lengths 2nd to BALDALE MEMORY.This is arguably the best form in the race but she is the most exposed of my trio.
SPiRIT OF SALSACE 11/2 from 12's
This Roger Varian trained finshed 8 lengths 10th at Newmarket on her only start but that race has thrown up numerous winners namely QAWAASEM Whos already made the jump to listed level.
VALONIA a class 2 maiden winner at Goodwood yesterday and the Hannon trained ORIEL who has also tasted group level albeit well beaten before winning last time out.
INTERESTING innit im gonna do all 3 and hope one of my others beat the Gosden Fav.If Gosdens 1 wins theres no harm done and my stake will be returned.
Ive just got a sneaky suspicion the form of the favourite is dodgy to say the least and the bookies as 'always' price Gosdens horses with fear.
