We're off to Kempton for the opener which is one of those crappy classified stakes race. Now I know there's a few fancies for the D'Arcy runner but I'm not so sure. An ok run two runs back over 1m 2f but I was not overly impressed last time at Yarmouth, that the two who finished in front are rated 50-somethings. Form doesn't look anything to me. At a much juicier price of 12-1 could be PETERS FRIEND. The press seem to think that there might not be enough pace to suit but I also don't agree with that. Butler's could definitely make the running and even if not, then PETERS FRIEND will be happy to bowl along anyway. Didn't quite last out over 1m 2f last time, so dropped back to a mile, and showed at both Southwell and Wolverhampton that artificial surfaces are no bother whatsoever. Final positive is that this trainer has a particularly fine record at the track, so he only seems to come down with something trying. I'd say all-in-all PETERS FRIEND each-way at 12-1 is definitely worthy of becoming HIT number 4.
