Ffos 5.10 STAR OF MAYFAIR 12/1
This recently gelded son of Tale of the cat has arguably the best form of the race albeit over shorter trips than today.'IF'you can forgive him
his last run were he was slowly away and hampered early on his previous historical form would give him every chance in this open contest.
He has bits and pieces of form that has drawn my attention in numerous races.Firstly he was beaten just over 2 1/2 lengths by the Willie Haggas
trained filly DANAT AL ATHEER.
That individual has since won a class 4 h'cap and has finished 1.25 lengths 2nd in a class 3 h'cap. She has progressed even further by finishing
4th in a class 2 h'cap and finally this season finished a creditable 5 lengths 6th in a listed race at Newbury.
He has run over this trip and finished 7.25 lengths 6th in a class 5 h'cap at Goodwood. On face value that doesnt seem that impressive however
upon further inspection the rivals that finished ahead of him that day were COULOIR EXTREME who has won 2 class 5 h'caps at Windsor this season.
CONTRADICT has won a class 4 h'cap and finished 5.5 lengths 5th in a listed race and finally KNIGHTS PARADE who has also won 2 races this
year at class 5 and 6 h'cap level.
The selections penultimate start was over a mile and was beaten 3.25 lengths by WOODY BAY conceding 2ibs.That rival has won 3 h'caps this year
including 2 class 5 h'caps and a class 4 and finally this year finishing a creditable 4 lengths 4th in a class 3 h'cap at Haydock.
This is my selections first run since being gelded and if this brings about any improvement he has got to have a great each way chance at 12/1.
The booking of M.J.Murphy and his claiming 5ib allowance can only be a bonus as this apprentice is no stranger to the winning enclosure and is
one of the more promising up and coming jockies on the circuit.
With 3 places up for grabs and with a field that lacks distinct strebgth in depth im hopeful of a decent run at a nice price.
Best of luck if ya follow
